SGTi-flex COVID-19 Ag is an immunoassay for qualitative detection of Nucleocapsid protein antigen from SARS-CoV-2 in nasopharyngeal and nasal swab specimen.
is a Onestep, Rapid Immunochromatographic Assay
for the qualitative detection of specific
antigens to
SARS-CoV-2 present in human.
Insert the swab into the nasal mucous membrane near the middle of the nasal turbinate and slowly collect the sample.
Place the sample collection swab into the extraction buffer tube.
Press the side of the tube a few time squeeze the swab. Then take out the sample collection swab. Used swab is classified as infectious waste and dispose of used swab properly in accordance with the relevant regulations.
Press the dropping cap tightly onto the Extraction Buffer tube.
Add 3 Drops of extracted sample on to the sample well of the cassette. Squeeze the bottle lightly to allow the drops to come out.
Read the result in 15 – 20 minutes. Do not read before 15min/ After 20min.
COVID-19 rapid antigen tests or RATs, also frequently called COVID-19 lateral flow tests or LFTs, are rapid antigen tests used to detect SARS-COV-2infection (COVID-19). Below are some qualities of SGTi Rapid Antigen
This differs from other forms of COVID-19 testing, such as polymerase chain reaction(PCR), which are generally seen to be a useful test for symptomatic individuals, as they have a higher sensitivity and can more accurately identify cases.
Your healthcare provider may recommend testing for COVID-19 if you have any of the following symptoms:
Not everyone with COVID-19 develops symptoms. And not all symptomatic people develop all of the symptoms listed above. Please check with your healthcare provider if you’re feeling unwell during the COVID-19 pandemic — even if you’ve been vaccinated.
The WHO recommends a minimum of 80% sensitivity and 97% specificity for antigen-detecting rapid diagnostic testing wherein SGTi- Flex is having 95.06% Sensitivity and 99.29% Specificity which is very high compared to other competitors.
Antigen tests produce results faster than molecular tests do and these point-of-care tests yield results in as little as 15 to 30 minutes.
Antigen tests produce results faster than molecular tests. In addition, antigen tests are less expensive compared to RT-PCR tests and don’t require specialized laboratory techniques. Antigen testing offers quick screening and detection of COVID-19 among high-risk groups and in high-congregate environments (such as prisons and long-term care facilities). PCR results validity of 7 days is failing as of now due to asymptomatic patients infecting others.
